Tax Manager EMEA in Amsterdam
The opportunity:
We are on the lookout for an experienced Tax Manager who will be joining our EMEA controlling team to manage all aspects of VAT and other indirect taxes for our European subsidiaries. In this role you will be directly responsible for preparing, reviewing and controlling indirect tax compliance across Europe, overseeing relationships with external compliance providers, managing inquiries from the local tax authorities as well as internal teams, and maximizing efficiencies in working and reporting systems to reduce VAT and other indirect tax liabilities where possible. You will:
- Complete VAT reporting, ensure VAT compliance and identify risks
- Minimize VAT liabilities and compliance issues
- Identify potential tax planning opportunities
- Ensure all month end processes are completed on a timely basis
- Liaise with and manage working relationship with various jurisdictional tax authorities during routine audits and ad hoc inquiries
- Maximize efficiencies in working and reporting systems to reduce the VAT/Duty liabilities where possible within the legislative framework.
- Partner with business on various matters to ensure VAT compliance is managed appropriately
- Input into the group's tax strategy
Required knowledge and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Economics
- 5+ years of VAT experience within Europe
- Strong knowledge of European tax laws
- Expertise in Intrastat and customs duty
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organisation
