This Raleigh-Durham based insurance company has an exciting opportunity in the Accounting Department for a Statutory Reporting Manager. The primary objective of this role is to assist in the preparation and review of Statutory financial reports and required disclosures. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional having expertise working in cross-functional teams with a continuous improvement mindset for processes and controls.
- Responsible for directing and reviewing the preparation of US statutory, US GAAP financial statements
- Review of sections of 10-Q and 10-K filings, statutory filings, reconciliations between the general ledger and SEC filings, and auditor deliverable letters
- Working together with financial reporting team to provide inputs on quarterly and annual financial data for GAAP and regulatory reports.
- Assist with the preparation & review of Federal and State income taxes, external auditors, insurance examinations, and with special projects and management reports as needed
- Manage and coordinate the preparation and filing of life insurance quarterly and annual statements to comply with all regulatory requirements regarding financial statement filings. Responsible for handling inquiries related to Annual statement questions.
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc.
- Cooperate with external auditors retained to audit accounting procedures and records to ensure adherence to established financial control procedures.
