The business
My client is a fast-growing entity of a London Market insurer. Established three years ago, headcount had increased exponentially, in line with a significant rise in the breadth and volume of business being written by the organisation. A nimble and highly active firm, they write business across multiple Insurance product lines.
As a result of this growth, their Wordings function has grown to support the Underwriters, and this vacancy is a continuation of the increased requirement for strong Wordings professionals in the organisation.
The role
In this role, your remit will be varied. You will be a valued partner to internal stakeholders such as Underwriting, but will equally be expected to negotiate and liaise with external stakeholders such as; brokers, MGAs and reinsurers.
Key areas of focus for the role will be:
- Drafting and negotiating policy wordings and clauses for MGA/coverholder managed products, binding authority agreements and outward reinsurance documentation
- Reviewing TOBAs between MGAs and brokers
- Supporting Claims with relevant coverage analysis, and subsequently adjusting policy wordings
- Maintaining regulatory standards across all work carried out
The candidate
You will be an experienced wordings professional with significant, prior London Market wordings practice, having ideally drafted policy wordings across a broad range of product classes. Reinsurance wordings and Delegated Underwriting agreements experience is a strong preference, as is exposure to dealing with MGAs.
