Our client is now looking to hire a full time newly qualified accountant on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate for this position would be a BIG 4 first-time mover. Great work benefits and close business exposure with strategic development plans on offer.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Finance Director, your duties will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Preparation of MD&A and U.S. GAAP and IFRS consolidated financial statements and disclosures
  • Preparation and analysis of financial information, including supporting documentation, for the Company's quarterly Earnings
  • Releases, Annual Report, various quarterly surveys and marketing materials
  • Preparation of presentations for internal and external parties including the Audit Committee, Board, regulatory bodies and rating agencies
  • Preparation of the annual XBRL reporting
  • Researching existing and new accounting literature, including assessment of the impact on the Company
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual accounting disclosure checklists
  • Preparation of documentation supporting financial reporting internal controls and processes, in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act documentation; and
  • Involvement in ad-hoc projects

The successful Applicant:

  • Professional accounting designation (CA/CPA or equivalent) or have passed the relevant examinations awaiting experience requirements to be completed
  • Experience in the (re)insurance industry obtained through commercial experience or through working in a Big 4 accounting firm
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Competent Excel knowledge
  • Basic IFRS knowledge would be desirable
  • Able to complete assigned tasks within reporting deadlines
  • Collaborative approach and positive attitude
