Senior operational risk manager insurance
We are currently looking for a senior operational risk manager for a financial institution in the area of The Hague. We are looking for a highly experienced force that is not only professionally but also communicatively strong and loves a challenge within a changing organization.
As a Senior Operational Risk Manager you give form and content to our risk & compliance policy in the field of insurance. You also regularly work with colleagues from Enterprise Risk Management on corporate themes. This starts with identifying and analysing operational risks within (and together with) the business. For example, on the basis of risk self assessments or root-cause analyses. You first translate insights into mitigating measures and then record best practices in control measures that are effective, workable and in line with client requirements. Moreover, you safeguard the policy within the organization, where you encourage risk awareness among colleagues. They have to do it eventually! You build a framework that makes operational risks easily visible. This includes coordinating risk (self) assessments, translating relevant developments (legislation and regulations, own field) into practical applications and monitoring and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the strategy. Furthermore, you are the content coach of less experienced colleagues and you take the lead in developing new dashboards and reports.
You are an experienced risk management professional with proven communication and analytical skills and the talent to positively pack critical notes. You like talking about risk management and are constantly looking for a dialogue with the business. Of course you feel at home in a changing work environment and you seek a role in which risk management has social added value. It is also important that you share your insights and experiences with colleagues and coach and inspire less experienced team members. Your ambition to give substance to and / or experience with coordinating tasks.
Background and competences
- Relevant academic training
- Approximately 5 years relevant experience within the insurance industry
- Knowledge of modern risk management methodologies, including (self-) assessments.
- Insurance-administrative and AO / IC expertise
