RISK MANAGER BRUSSELS

The position of Risk Manager is broad: you will be the point of contact for the Risk organisation. You are responsible for assessing risk management for the Business Unit, but you will also have a wider scope than that. You support the achievement of the strategic objectives from an independent position.

You are a valuable conversation partner of the business. You look beyond the borders of business units to arrive at an integral understanding of risks and the extent to which they are controlled for the organisation and its clients. To do so, you identify, analyse, value and monitor business risks and report on them to the board. You conduct this on the basis of a proactive attitude.

The role requires a person who can take responsibility for Risk Management for the Agency's entities and support the Group Risk Management team in the group projects in line with the person's experience and expertise. The person is required to lead the US entity and reporting into the Group Risk Officer (GRO).

Your responsibilities

Oversee Risk Management in one or more of the territories:

  • Take responsibility for Enterprise Risk Management for the Business Unit and to be ultimately responsible for defining, implementing and running the full risk management system across the respective company and all related third-parties:
    • Assess risk throughout the organisation
    • Quantify risk limits, identify and log risks and develop plans to mitigate risks
    • Monitor the progress of risk mitigation activities
    • Create and disseminate risk measurements and reports
  • Communicate to the Board and the Group CRO on a regular basis regarding the risk profile of the business
  • Maintain the internal control system in the context of the Group wide approach
  • To ensure appropriate consideration and subsequent communication and implementation where required of regulatory requirements
  • Group Risk Management support as required

Own the Group Internal Control System or the Third-Party Risk Management System:

  • Internal Control
    • Lead the implementation of our GRC Platform
    • Refine, review and direct the overall methodology and group-wide process
    • Execute the RCSAs and Thematic Risk Assessments
    • Ensure that all data on our platform is current and regular checks are made
    • Support the implementation of additional GRC Platform features
    • Support the drafting of the local ORSAs and Risk Reports

  • TPRM
    • Lead all efforts regarding TPRM and the implementation of our bespoke TPRM Tool
    • Refine, review and direct the overall methodology and group-wide process
    • Support the Third-party Risk Assessments with the business
    • Ensure that all data in the TPRM Platform are current and regular checks are made
    • Support the implementation of additional features on the TPRM tool
    • Support the drafting of the local ORSAs and Risk Reports

Your Profile

  • You have a minimum of 6 years of experience in Risk Management in Europe/ US/UK.
  • You're a self-starter, who's able to produce the required deliverables in a timely fashion using their own initiative
  • You are highly motivated and take pride in your work with a conscientious and diligent work ethic
  • You have a very good knowledge of English and Dutch or French
  • Insurance carrier experience within a commercial lines environment is a plus
  • You are a collegian team player who can work well independently
