My client is seeking a senior manager to work in a non-contentious capacity for a well-recognised global (re)insurer. They work across a variety of different classes of business with a number of risk exposures, and work across all geographical territories - the commercial exposure is second to none.
This part of the team underwrites risks in niche personal lines and consists of approximately five people. This opportunity is to manage this team of capable, commercially mature lawyers in the design, development and drafting of commercial agreements with various distribution partners including brokers, MGA's and affinity partners.
This can be for existing, or new products. When new policies are designed for marketing into new classes / new territories you will lead the team to ensure regulatory aspects of these policies are robust and fit for purpose. You will also provide general advice for the underwriters, ensure that coverage issues are managed and dealt with and also manage external counsel in their litigation cases.
This is an exceptionally broad role that requires a commercially mature individual, ideally with 10+ years of PQE. You will be supporting personal lines classes across the EMEA region. Knowledge of personal lines classes, as well as experience from a leading (Re)insurance law practice is a prerequisite. You must also be a skilled man manager and aspire to lead a commercially mature and exceptionally adept legal team.
