Our client is a multinational insurance company who is currently looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to be a part of their regional legal department, reporting to the Head of Legal.
You will be advising on a wide range of legal issues, ranging from litigation and claims, corporate transactions to commercial contractual matters to regulatory issues. This individual should be comfortable with working with internal stakeholders as well as external parties to provide commercial legal advise.
Key responsibilities
- Provide and support practical legal advice and services to the business across Asia, excluding China, Japan and India
- Negotiate numerous standard and complex corporate and commercial agreements for the company, while balancing appropriate legal, regulatory and business risk
- Work closely with compliance team to provide regulatory, licensing and other compliance advice to the business
- Support commercial and other legal needs of the company's business operations in Asia
- Work with different departments to achieve business objects including but not limited to client development, marketing, IT and other teams
- Cooperate with the privacy team in providing privacy-related advice and solutions to the firm
Requirements
- At least 3+ PQE across private practice and/ or in-house
- Ideally with commercial litigation/ dispute resolution with a bit of insurance knowledgeable
- Commercially-oriented team player with a strong ability to provide pragmatic commercial advice
- Ability to work independently to analyse and summarise key legal and business issues
