Oliver James are currently working with a global Private Equity & Investment Management firm in Switzerland in search of an Infrastructure Engineer to join the team. This is a very exciting opportunity to work with state of the art technology with the chance to create, design and implement with a high degree of autonomy. The business heavily invest in hardware, software & additional technology resources to provide opportunities for innovation.
The team, which has roughly three internals and six/seven externals, is currently working on architecting on-premises applications in Cloud Native solutions. They work on the transition of existing infrastructure to AWS Cloud whilst also supporting the on-premises infrastructure during the transition phase. The role comes with a high degree of autonomy and influence, which will be needed when it comes to presenting, collaborating and communicating with stakeholders. This presents an excellent chance to learn from experts in this field as well as develop technically across greenfield projects.
Role responsibilities:
- Develop and support IT infrastructure across technologies both on-premises and cloud
- Implement best practises with SDLC & Architecture throughout continuous delivery process for applications and infrastructure
- Contribute to and participate in the transition of existing infrastructure to AWS cloud whilst supporting and maintaining current on-premises infrastructure during the transition
- Strong involvement and contribution to live and upcoming projects - helping to deliver on time and within scope & budget.
- Create and maintain comprehensive infrastructure and process documentation
Your background:
- Higher education (Bachelors, Masters or even better PhD) in Computer Science, Information Technology or a similar field would be beneficial
- 4+ years of experience in the IT industry, ideally around Software Development, Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps
- Experience working with AWS, GitLab, Terraform & Docker
- Some knowledge of software development in Java or Python alongside some application testing types
- Knowledge of methodologies in CI/CD, DevOps, Agile, Kanban, SCRUM
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organisation soft skills with a team-orientated approach
