Based on a Fintech solution to improve efficiency for counter-parties in funds / investment trading. They need a proven manager (approx 10 years PQE) that can manage geographically dispersed teams and provide technical / thought leadership to a qualified lawyers. Expert level experience Asset Management, Funds & Investment.

This is an extraordinary in-house opportunity, seeking a senior funds lawyer to manage a team. The team will be split across two continents and is made up of qualified lawyers, aspiring lawyers and support staff. Ideally, you will have excellent knowledge of the funds and investment management space and understand the regulation, compliance, formation, structuring, counter-party objectives, on-boarding, etc. etc.

The reason for this strong technical understanding is that he qualified lawyers in the team are very adept in this area but will need genuine leadership and best practice knowledge from day one.

You will be supporting the establishment of a start-up business within this prestigious, international firm that has the direct backing and line of sight of the Global CEO and other senior stakeholders. This start-up is based on a fintech solution that remedies some of the age-old inefficiencies previously thought to be endemic and synonymous with these deals. This is a hugely exciting, ground-breaking solution that could revolutionise how things are done.

The concept has already "gone live" in carefully selected test territories and the early signs are extremely encouraging - the next challenge is to scale it up on a global basis for which this role-holder will be a business-critical hire.

As well as team management you will be setting up processes for on-boarding counter-parties, establishing all technical legal processes and frameworks to support the business as well as setting best practice from day one. You will also be forging an arsenal of templates, repositories / libraries of data for the legal team, and providing any commercial / strategic insight for both business growth and continual improvement to senior stakeholders.
