My client are a fast paced and entrepreneurial organisation who operate in the construction sector. They have seen very recent, rapid growth that is a result of a change in strategic direction. Owner managed, central to their success has been their core principles of quality of service and strong relationships built with customers. Their story is an exciting one, and with exponential growth plans, is far from over. They are looking for someone who can support them in their vision and become and intrinsic member of the organisation.
This position is a newly created a role, with an eye to succession planning within the organisation. You will take over responsibility as the Finance lead of the organisation, with ultimate responsibility for the finance function. Leading a small team of finance staff, you will manage the entire month end process including:
- Preparation and analysis of Management Accounts
- Maintaining the cash flow forecast, and closely monitoring the cash flow position
- Preparing annual budgets and updating monthly forecasts
This is a really broad role, and your responsibility will be to act as a senior leader within the organisation. As a member of that leadership team, you will work closely with cross functional heads, providing commercial analysis and insight to the rest of the business. You will also partner closely with the Commercial Director of the business, providing support and assistance with bids and tendering processes.
What you will bring
This role is a critical position in the ongoing growth of the business, and as such, you will need to have prior experience of working within the construction sector to be able to hit the ground running, and add value from day one. With this specific experience in mind, my client is interested in applications from those holding full accounting qualifications (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and will also consider those who are qualified by experience in similar roles.
It is not necessary that you are currently operating as a Financial Controller, though experience at this level is a positive. My client is also very interested in seeing those who are looking to develop their career and step up into a role like this. With succession planning and role development on the agenda, it is critical that you are motivated, and looking to drive a growing business forward and take advantage of the progression that this will offer you.
What is on offer
£45,000 - £50,000 basic salary, plus additional benefits
