Our client is looking for the successful candidate to be available immediately, however, a short notice period will be considered for the right candidate.
About the position and team
The Infrastructure Self Service enablement team will be creating capabilities for users of our Azure platform to build their own environments, labs, experiments etc. This team will enable many people to get what they want, when they want it whilst maintaining appropriate governance and visibility. They have been on a 3 year journey to get to where they are with Infrastructure as Code, and now they need to use what they've learnt to create the foundations to scale and grow. This team will be made up of a small group of talented engineers, who will work closely with other teams in the Cloud delivery portfolio.
What you'll be doing
You will be helping to build a toolset that provides an easy to consume set of capabilities for building infrastructure in Azure. Initially your customers will be Application Delivery teams and business unit architects. They have a PoC management platform designed to expose certain tasks like environment scheduling, tag management functions, execution of automated jobs etc. You will be working on key use cases for this. Everything should be created with code, with robust version control and best in class development and architectural principles applied to everything that you do.
Their Infrastructure Engineering Development Lead will set out direction for the platform and is defining how the code should look to implement the core platform. You will be working as a part of a small team, focused on the creation of templates and usage patterns as well as governance enforced through code. You will likely be working closely with selected application delivery teams from time to time to gather feedback and discuss potential solutions to satisfy their requirements.
