Our client is a global leader in the insuretech field; this position can be based out of any of our client's UK offices but offers full flexibility for remote/hybrid working.
Experience required:
- Advanced mathematical techniques are essential
- At least Masters level (or equivalent) qualification in a subject such as maths / statistics / data science
- An interest in coding and use of software to solve problems
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity
- Good interpersonal skills and evidence of constructive teamwork
- Enjoy training/mentoring more junior staff
- Good theoretical and / or practical knowledge of major types of machine learning and predictive analytics
- Working knowledge of Python and R is beneficial
- Actuarial experience / studying actuarial exams is desirable
The Actuarial Data Scientist will support clients within life insurance and advise on the practical use of mathematical techniques. You will use your technical skills to develop solutions and contribute to the development of the company's intellectual capital, in particular in the areas of data analytics, machine learning and capital modelling. As a data science expert you will think issues through and devise new approaches for creating opportunities and begin to establish a public reputation in a chosen specialism through the production of articles and presentation.
