Data Protection Officer

The Role

There is an opportunity for someone coming in as the UK Data Protection Officer to help achieve the businesses goal of 'leading from the front' by making sure their Privacy policy is best in class.

I have an opportunity for an experienced Privacy professional to be the UK Data Protection Officer reporting the CRO in a global banking organisation based in Central London. The successful Data Protection Officer will be responsible for facilitating and designing the ways that Data is protected across multiple markets across an international business. If you are a data privacy expert or innovator who is looking to join a security-conscious organisation then this could be a good move for you.

There is an extensive GDPR programme that is on track for delivery and as the Data Protection Officer you will be designing and delivering a UK wide privacy framework as part of the BAU activities.

Data Privacy Officer Requirements

  • Previous experience of working as an SME in Data Privacy and Protection, ideally in a large organisation
  • Experience working with the ICO and FCA with strong knowledge of the financial services sector
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement up to board level
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering a privacy framework
  • Expert knowledge in GDPR and associated data protection legislation
  • Any data protection qualifications would be beneficial though not essential
  • Experience of leading data privacy programmes
  • Ability to build and manage team
