Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic insurance company. As an Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing our financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and industry regulations. Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

- Conduct variance analysis and investigate significant fluctuations to identify trends, issues, and opportunities.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management, providing insightful recommendations and strategic guidance.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
- Monitor budget performance and provide regular reports to management, highlighting areas of concern and suggesting corrective actions.
- Participate in the development of financial models and scenarios to support business planning and decision-making processes.
3. Financial Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, and payroll.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions and adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
4. Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations, as well as insurance industry accounting standards.
- Coordinate and manage external audits and examinations, serving as the primary contact for auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Implement recommendations from audit findings and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Stay updated with emerging accounting trends, regulations, and best practices and share knowledge with the team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or in a similar role within the insurance industry.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
