Description: A leader in the specialist insurance market is looking for a qualified insurance lawyer to join their international London market division as a claims underwriter. Our client writes a large number of worldwide Professional liability policies with particular focus on the US and therefore this role will see you managing your own claims portfolio from first advice through to settlements where your book will predominantly be US PI claims. Key to the success of our client is the interaction between the claims underwriters and the brokers, clients and the companies’ underwriters and the technical and commercial input they provide for policy wordings and product development. This is a unique and exciting position for an insurance litigator either looking to make a move in the industry or to make a move from practice into an in-house position that will utilise their legal qualification whilst providing an interesting and fulfilling career. Applicants will ideally have US professional liability experience or alternatively with have UK PI experience with a strong understanding of the Lloyd’s market. Travel is highly likely within the position and applicants must show a willingness to travel as required for court ordered mediations.
