Description:
Leading specialist insurer with global operations is looking for a new international technology, media & telecoms underwriter to join their mainly London based team.
The position will see you being actively responsible for the development of the TMT business within emerging markets – with primary responsibility for developing the Canadian, Australian and Indian books covering liability insurance for Media & Technology clients.
Due to the technical nature of this role our client is looking for either established underwriters in the TMT business or TMT lawyers who have the technical knowledge of contract law including: -
• Breach of contract;
• Breach of intellectual property rights;
• Deformation; and
• Errors and omissions.
Other duties will be dependent on whether it is for existing clients of new clients in the emerging markets: -
• Creating and maintaining local wordings and supporting documentation in compliance with that country’s law/regulation.
• Travel overseas to promote product line among brokers and clients.
• Assume the role of business sponsor for IT/operations projects necessary in support of the new venture.
• Devise and execute a launch strategy for the product line in that country.
• Assume the role of primary underwriter for that country.
Due to the high profile nature of this position individuals must be commercially minded and have decision making capability.
This is a unique opportunity for lawyers to utilise their legal skills in a commercial role or for existing underwriters to take a more active part in their market.
For all legal applicants you will have at least 5yrs experience within Technology, Media & Telecommunications and ideally have experience or an understanding of the insurance market, although this is not essential.
